Pros: This book is a world unto its own. It’s the most imaginative world I’ve come across in a very long time. Here you’ll learn a little about real world marine life and it’s coupled with the fantastic fantasy of dragons and dweer. I thought that it was very unique that dragons could only survive with copper in their diets and that they had a very sophisticated way of life and a culture all of their own. Usually dragons are mystical and mysterious, but this author sheds light on their world in a way I’ve never seen done before.
Cons: I wish that the story itself was a little more developed and suspenseful. We don’t get a sense of the overall plot until about mid-way through the book when it becomes apparent that the copper deficiency is becoming a real problem. It showed that problem at the beginning of the book, but it didn’t seem to be the major problem.
